Artilleriyskiy Tyagach Sredniy - 59, or ATS-59 (from Russian: Артиллерийский Тягач, Средний (АТС), meaning medium artillery tractor) was a Soviet artillery tractor of the Cold War era.
The ATS-59G has a larger cabin, with 7 people in two rows. The T-55 tank engine was used and an NBC overpressure system was added. Otherwise, the chassis and payload capacity remained unchanged.
The AT-S was developed as a successor to the AT-59. It kept the same payload and towing capacity, but had higher speed, longer range and improved off-road capability.
